Sylvia Ryerson publishes essay in the latest American Quarterly!

Congratulations to Sylvia Ryerson on her recent publication, “Precarious Politics: Friends of Coal, the UMWA, and the Affective Terrain of Energy Identification” in the American Quarterly.  Sylvia is a PhD student in American studies, with a master’s concentration in the public humanities. Her research and teaching interests are focused on Racial Capitalism, Histories of U.S. Empire, the Carceral State, Sound Studies, Appalachian Studies, Public Humanities.
