Annie Berman

Annie Berman is a Ph.D. student in Film and Media Studies and American Studies. She received her M.A. in Film and Media Studies from Columbia University in 2022, where her research focused on formal mechanisms of identification and embodiment at the intersection of structural film and queer/feminist avant-garde filmmaking practice. She completed her B.A. at Hamilton College in Literature (honors) with a minor in Cinema and Media Studies in 2018. Her areas of interest include women’s experimental cinema, avant-garde documentary, essay and diary films, textuality, and queer cinema.
