Yale’s American Studies department congratulates UNITE-HERE Local 33 organizers and members for winning this historic right to form a graduate workers’ union. This win is a not only a victory for the labor movement at Yale and in higher education, but also a testament to the power of determined collective action more broadly. We look forward to working with the union to create better working and learning conditions for all students and intellectual workers at Yale. Onward!
