American Studies welcomes Ana Ramos-Zayas

Ana Ramos-Zayas, Professor of American Studies, Ethnicity, Race and Migration, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, comes to us from the City University of New York/Baruch where she was Professor of Latino and Black Studies.  Her research examines the politics of citizenship, affect and the embodiment of race, neighborhood activism, neoliberalism and racial democracy, and constructions of race in both North and South America; her teaching covers ethnographic methods, social theory, Latin American Studies, education, youth, and urban anthropology.  Please welcome Professor Ramos-Zayas to our program!
