The American Studies department offers Ph.D. students who are registered and in good standing a one-time grant of $400.00 for research or to present a paper at a conference. Please provide the supporting documents and information in the link below. Yale is very detail-oriented when it comes to travel and receipts. If you prepay, submit the receipt as soon as possible. Receipts are only reimbursable for a limited amount of time.
Reimbursement Policies and Procedures
- All expenses have to be in your name.
- Any airfare must be Economy class only.
- University does not authorize payments to third parties. We cannot process the reimbursement if the payment was made by anyone other than you.
- All expenses need to be submitted within 90 days, and please allow time for processing. The clock does not stop once you submit the documents.
- Membership fee and meals are not reimbursable.
Include the following documentation with your reimbursement request
- A copy of the conference program listing your name.
- A copy of the email inviting you to speak.
- All original receipts.
