The American Studies department offers Ph.D. students who have registered in their third year (or later) a one-time grant of $400.00 for research or to present a paper at a conference. Please provide the supporting documents and information in the link below. Yale is very detailed oriented when it comes to travel and receipts. If you prepay, submit the receipt as soon as possible. Receipts are only reimbursable for a limited period of time.
Reimbursement Policies and Procedures
- All expenses have to be in your name.
- Any airfare must be Economy class only.
- University does not authorize payments to third parties. We cannot process the reimbursement if the payment was made by anyone other than you.
- All expenses need to be submitted within 120 days, and please allow time for processing. The clock does not stop once you submit the documents.
- Membership fee and meals are not reimbursable.
Include the following documentation with your reimbursement request
- A copy of the conference program listing your name.
- A copy of the email inviting you to speak.
- All original receipts.
