Yale alumnus Philip Deloria, author of Playing Indian and Indians in Unexpected Places, will be giving a talk at Davenport College on Tuesday, February 17th at 4:00 pm.
His talk, “Toward an American Indian Abstract: Art, Politics, and Futurity” will examine Dakota artist Mary Sully who produced a compelling body of work at the interface of modernist aesthetics, industrial design, and Sioux visual tradition.
Reception to follow at 5:30 pm at the NACC (26 High St.) Light refreshments will be served.
