Resisting AI’s Impact on the Creative Industry, Dec. 4, 2025, 5:30-7pm, WLH 119

Join us for a conversation with Emmy Award-winning artist and author Molly Crabapple and This Machine Kills co-host and journalist Edward Ongweso Jr. on how AI is reshaping creativity and human flourishing more generally, and how to resist it. From the Hollywood writers’ strike to illustrators organizing against the image generators built on their stolen art, this presentation will draw from the histories of Luddism to the present day to understand how creative workers are fighting back against a tech-industry hellbent on using AI to deskill, disempower and replace them. The presentation will be followed by a Q & A, moderated by Professor of Film and Media Studies Neta Alexander.
