Camila Tiburcio Rubio

Camila (she/her) is a PhD student in American Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies. Her research interests center on Cuban popular culture, specifically the genre of reparto, digital subculture and citizenship, generational differences, and transnational performances of identity, as well as the construction of race and gender in digital and musical subcultures. She earned her Bachelor’s Summa Cum Laude in Social and Cultural Analysis and her Master’s in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University. She is a first-generation student and a proud Miamian.
