Chloe Taft graduated from Williams College with a BA in American Studies and Sociology. Her in-progress dissertation is entitled From Steel to Slots: Navigating Postindustrial Landscapes in Bethlehem, Pa. The project explores intersections of place and experience of economic change through an “ethnography of the landscape” in a former religious settlement and steel town that now boasts an industrial-themed casino. Her methods combine ethnographic interviews, participant-observation, and archival research.
