Lauren Meyer is a joint African American Studies and American Studies doctoral candidate, also pursuing certification in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is currently researching and writing a dissertation on the intellectual, legal and activist labors of African American women lawyers during the Long Civil Rights and Women’s Liberation movements. Lauren earned a B.A. summa cum laude in History and Women’s Studies from Boston College, a M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and previously worked as a secondary school teacher of history and gender studies.
